MICR 4123/5123 Virology

A lecture course covering the fundamentals of virology. Includes virus diversity & evolution, virus structure, infection & immune responses, vaccines & virus technology as well as virus discovery, emergence and epidemiology. Both eukaryotic and prokaryotic viruses will be discussed.

MICR/BIOC 3162 Synthetic Biology Laboratory Course

Computer and laboratory exercises to introduce students with a wide range of biology experience to the practical principles of synthetic biology. Students learn the design of genetic circuits and CRISPR-Cas systems and create & test these designs in the laboratory using industry-standard molecular biology techniques. Same course as BIOC 3162.

Students are strongly encouraged to co-enroll in BIOC/MICR3153 using the appropriate prefix according to their major.
